Day Fifty - Tuesday 27th February

Project - Ze Volf!

As we are aiming our magazine at real car enthusiasts, and people who havent got 10k to throw at a 20k car, we thought we should do a project that shows people that you dont need a endless supply of money to create a project car.

SO i have decided to donate my MK3 golf to Maxxd Marketing Solutions, and use that as our Short Change Show Car!

We are gonna do proper mods, that anyone can achieve on a small budget. Things like wheels, suspension, tints, a subtile bodykit and a bidget ICE package. We can tie this in with the advertising we are doing for people, and get these companies to sponsor the car in return for a sticker in the window or something.

We have been talking about this today, and getting some ideas in place. This should be fun!

Oh, we also thought about a vento front end?

Vento front end?
vento front end anyone?

In my opinion, this is the kind of projects people will like to read about. As cool as it is to see pictures and stories about cars with tens of thousands of dollars put into them, it is fun to hear about a car that the average reader could build in his own driveway. I think the Mk3 Golf is an excellent platform to use for a project car. As for the Vento front end, I say do it. It seems to be a popular trend in the scene.

Thanks for the comment Mike, we are hoping that having this in the magazine, will attract the younger readers that are just getting into it. The approach we are taking with the magazine is something different.

Do you check the blog every day?

Actually, I just came across your blog today while doing a search for “Mk3″ on Technorati. I didn’t have a lot of time this morning to go through your other posts or your website, but I plan on doing so sometime today.

[...] Maxxd ties into SubtileBlog through my “Mk3” search.  Yesterday, Maxxd posted that they are donating their Mk3 Golf to Maxxd Marketing Solutions and will be using it as their “Short Change Show Car.”  The goal of the car is to show that people don’t need an endless supply of money to build a great project car.  Maxxd will be doing mods to the car that anyone on a small budget can accomplish.  Clean, subtile modifications are what SubtileBlog is all about and I think these guys have some good ideas for the car.
