We have merged MMS with our sister company dijitul media as a lot of our clients were not from the Alloy Wheels/Motorcycle Helmets/Motorsport world, and it was getting confusing when we answered the phone!

So Maxxd marketing is now a “Project” from dijitul media, and the sites we have created under the Maxxd umbrella are a base for advertising and article publishing for anyone within the automotive world.

Dave and I have been doing just that – plodding along, and things are going great.. But.. They will only ever remain great and never become amazing, unless we start looking at taking staff on and expanding what we do.

We’ve been doing SEO now for over a year, and its really turned the business around. We have been very successful in getting certain companies to the top of google for certain terms, and the success has attracted a few peoples attention, who are now sending us work left right and centre!

Its quite mad really, as the world is in recession, yet our business has never been as busy and profitable! I guess the fact the things we do help other companies do better, means its pretty obvious that this global time of depression, would end up being one of our highest points so far!

Following two years in business and working closely with alot of alloy wheel retailers we have now teamed up with several manufacturers to bring you the latest press releases and information from the alloy wheel industry.

Rims4U will be reporting on new products and keeping you up to date with all the latest gossip from the Alloy Wheel market.

The site has been online for about a week and we already have three large companies onboard.

We are still working on various sections of the site and contacting more manufacturers to get them onboard and theres alot to do, but its been launched as its useful as it is now and has already been picked up by Google

We arrived to a buzzing room full of colourful designs on huge sheets of paper, laptops being used to design adverts and powerpoint presentations and lots of school kids, teachers and assistants buzzing around all working on their little projects.

We were given areas to work with, and each area had 3 schools, with 2 teams each – totalling 6 teams. We had to walk around and make notes so their ideas were not alien to us when the ideas were being pitched.

I love anything involving psychology, and i love people watching and i love trying to work people out before ive had chance to get to know anything about them. It was quite evident when we were walking around that certain districts had poorer (not in wealth, in standards etc) schools – and within the groups, there was usually one or two people who stood out as the most confident and as the leader.

The event went really well, the group that i picked as my favourite from the start ended up winning, and they got £250 to take their idea to the next level. Some of the dragons also gave in some money to the winning teams, and one of the non winning idea was actually picked up by some of the staff there and they are going to be helping them get it off the ground.

Dave has agreed to help one of the projects that was pitched to him, its about supporting children forced or being forced into child prostitution – and getting them re-homed and looked after -  so look out in your facebook inboxes for something about that!

We have offered to help out in the future with any similar projects in school as we both agreed it was really beneficial for the kids, and for us too. it gave us an day out talking to some of the most interesting people on the planet – todays youth.

The things we do as a business are things that are going to appeal to a lot of youngsters nowadays, more so than many of the other career paths they lay before you during your education. So hopefully by working with schools we can find people who would be perfect employees, and snap them up before anyone else does.

Were always up for helping develop young peoples skills and promote business within schools and colleges as we beliove that more people should do what we do, as we love it

Over the past three months we have been working hard on developing new areas of the business and have now secured some good contracts and are continuing to expand the little empire we have. We have a number of online marketing campaigns underway, all of which are doing well.

The industry has been under quite a lot of pressure lately, we have seen some alloy wheels distributors and manufacturers go bust, a performance exhausts manufacturer has also been forced into administration and many others are struggling. Luckily for us, things have not been quiet, infact we’ve had too much work on so certain sites have had to be put on the back burner as work for customers has been taking up most of our time.

The modified car scene has definately changed over the past few years with the price of petrol going up and the police cracking down on the illegal cruise scene. Not that they are the only factors but they have played a big role.

When we first got into the modified car scene we were amazed by the amount of different products available, things such as body kits where once a big thing and custom body styling. Nowadays alot more people are getting into the Motorsport side and spending more money on engine tuning and performance car parts.

I am also one of those people and am entering into the Toyota Sprint Series next year as I think it will be a good thing for the company as well as get me started with Motorsport. Hopefully in a couple of years we can expand on this, have more cars, more drivers, maybe even a team one day, Time Attack is the ultimate goal but with how much money you need we have a way to go yet.

In other news the Spotlight Torch has been selling well, not as well as we first thought but to say we have only had the product a few months its not done too bad at all. We still have alot of editorial to go out into the press in the likes of Max Power, FastCar and other magazines.

We launched our SmartWax website a few weeks ago too and have started advertising on a few sites and have also setup an SEO campaign for it. Our aim is to become the biggest online retailer for the Smart range. Not an overnight job but we are confident that we can achieve it.

I think for now, thats about all we have to blog about, no need to go into every nook and cranny of the business. We do have other projects on the go, new websites being worked on as we speak so watch this space.

We recently bought even more domain names which should be put to good use very soon.

Oh yes, last but not least, we gave the office a lick of paint and a bit of a shuffle around. After two long years our office actually looks and feels like an office and not a typical lads bedroom (or thats what people used to call it)

We both came from an automotive background as we both loved anything with an engine and got motorbikes as soon as we were old enough, which then moved swiftly onto cars as we were sick of getting wet!

We both got small cheap first cars, and we started modifying them straight away. Dave had a fiesta with a Peco big bore exhaust, and i had a nissan micra with more speakers in than you could shake a stick at!

Soon enough we got the BUG and ditched those cars in favour of some shiny un-modified VW’s, and the MAXXD process began!

We both got alloy wheels for them, dave went for some lenso alloy wheels, and i went for some 18″ chrome wheels – bling bling baby! Many other mods followed, such as performance exhausts and in car entertainment - until they looked like this!

Sadly, we have both moved on from this, but are still big fans and loyal members of the modified car world, and we will continue to provide automotive marketing and automotive design services to the scene until we are old and grey

The car club attended the Fast Show a few weeks ago at Santa Pod, despite it being cold the turnout was brilliant. Donny Show is in a couple of weeks and is looking good. Rumour has it that Live Events have requested more space for clubs as its been packed out. We have a large stand with about 25 cars on show. This time last year we had the very first edition of the Maxxd magazine being printed, and all of us were running around like headless chickens.

The past fortnight has been crazy, I have done nothing but make phone calls and spread the word about the magazine and directory across networking sites such as myspace and facebook.  MySpace is a good site for networking with car owners and clubs as many use it for their cars unlike facebook thats used more for the actual person.

Olly has recently updated a few of our websites and also built a new one for the car owners that love to upload and watch videos online.  Maxxd.TV was launched a few days ago and we are now in the process of marketing the site and getting users onboard. Similar to youTube but purely for car related videos we are hoping this will become a success and eventually attract people from all over the world.  We will be hosting other peoples videos as well as shooting at some of the popular car shows up and down the UK getting footage for the site.

Maxxd.co.uk – the main website for Maxxd Marketing Solutions has also been redesigned and expanded to expose our services in a better light.  This is one of many designs but one of the best and we are now sticking with this site until further notice as it does more than serve its purpose.
