This blog is designed to give you an insight into whats happening behind the scenes at Maxxd.

Nearly 5 years ago, two guys called Oliver Mooney and David Hartshorne decided that there was a niche for a Modified Car Forum in and around the Mansfield area (Nottinghamshire, UK)

A number of names were thought of, and a long list of ideas was created. We thought about following suit, and calling ourselves Cruise Mansfield or Mansfield Cruise Network but we decided against those. Another name we thought of was “Uk Modified” but none of these names had a ring to it that worked.

Then finally, then name Maxxd was born. It was a name that didnt tie us to a location, it was a name that as soon as you hear it, you think you know it. And its a name that has proven successful where others have failed in the modified car website scene.

Five years on, and things are getting busy! We are continuing to run Maxxd.com, one of the largest and longest serving Modified Car Forums on the internet!

We have re-launched our Modified Car Service Directory, the MaxxDirectory. And we have also started a Online Marketing company (Maxxd.co.uk), and moved into our office on the 4th of December 2006.

Thanks to The Princes Trust we have be able to set the business up properly and both work full time on it, something that we have been waiting to do for the past two years.
2007 looks to be a promising year, and we’ll keep this blog up-to-date along the way.
